Flüeli-Ranft lies in the geological centre of Switzerland, in Central Switzerland. The little village, embedded into a plateau above Sachseln on Lake Sarnen, is a place of peace, relaxation and recreation, away from the hectic pace and traffic.

The next skiing area is Melchsee-Frutt (ca. 15 minutes drive; if requested by several people the hotel will also arrange a shuttle bus). The guests from Paxmontana benefit from a special day ticket price of CHF 35.00.

An approx. 2 hour guided snowshoe tour on the Glaubenberg costs about CHF 39.00 incl. hire. Without a guide the charge for hiring the snow shoes is about CHF 20.00 per day incl. sticks. Around Flüeli-Ranft there are numerous (circular-) hiking paths, some of which are also passable in winter.

Due to its central position, it offers a huge number of close-by excursion opportunities. Lucerne on Vierwaldstätter Lake is not far.

A bus leaves from Paxmontana for Sachseln station and from there in the direction of Lucerne (travel time with public transport ca. 50 min.; by car ca. 50 min.). In Lucerne the things to see include – apart from the well-known historical wooden bridge – numerous interesting art museums, the art museum designed by the star architect Jean Nouvel or the Rosengart Collection, which owes its importance to the two artists Paul Klee and Pablo Picasso.
